The page for this memorial has been immensely helpful in giving the meanings of various military codes, such as R.A.M.C.; R.A.S.C. (M.T.); R.N.A.S.; R.W.K., etc.
The extent to which WW1 was dependent on horses is brought home by one of the names on this list: G. E. Payne is described as a "Shoeing Smith".
Researching this memorial we learnt the architectural term "nowy headed" indicating that there is a projection, usually curved, at the middle of the top edge. We've been investigating memorials similar to this for over 20 years - there's always something new to learn.

WC1, University Street, Paramount Court
This site used to be the Shoolbred department store and this memorial was displayed there. Shoolbreds ceased trading in 1931, the building was acquired by Harrods, demolished and was replaced with the Paramount Court block of flats. Prior to demolition this memorial was retrieved and stored by Harrods in various locations until being moved to Paramount Court in August 2019.
