William Wise

William Hugh Surtees Wise was born on 6 April 1951 in Oxford, the youngest of the three sons of Horatio Thomas Wise (1906-1990) and Lucy Maud Wise née Helliwell (1919-1951). His elder brothers were Philip J. S. Wise (b.1949) and Richard James Surtees Wise (1950-2018).

He married Christine Cook, their marriage being registered in the 2nd quarter of 1976 in the Reading & Wokingham registration district. He was a computer programmer and they lived in Notting Hill. His obituary can be found on our picture source.

He died, aged 54 years, on 7 July 2005 whilst travelling on the lower deck of a Route No.30 bus that was targeted by a suicide bomber at Tavistock Square. The narrative verdict of his death can be found on the .
