Haberdashers Place 1802
N1, Pitfield Street
The 1802 stone has clearly been saved from the ruin, and the 1952 plaque modelled on it. Nicely done. The close-up picture was taken from the centre of the little roundabout and the scent from the roses was delightful. With so little traffic you could close your eyes and be transported to a country cottage garden.

In our photo the plaque can be seen through the gap in the railings, laid into the ground in front of the grass.
Tagore rented the house for about 3 weeks or a few months (depending on source) on one of him many visits to Britain.
