Sir Edward Elgar lived in a house on this site, 1911 - 1921. Here he composed The Music Makers, Falstaff, The Spirit of England.

It would be nice to know who did the giving but we can't find out.
15 August is the official VJ Day in the UK so erecting this plaque on Wednesday 16th was perverse.
